August 2026: Session Continuity, Comments, and Voice Fixes
August's updates improve continuity when agents resume work, connections drop, or you move between frames. They also fix comments, mentions, task links, and spoken replies.
August 17, 2026 — Keep Denker tools available after a Codex session resumes
Codex can continue using connected tools after a conversation resumes. The release also includes maintenance fixes and improved troubleshooting for onboarding video playback.
August 18, 2026 — Protect queued work and archived projects
Taskboard reads receive fixes, and archived projects are guarded against live work. The Companion capacity queue is corrected, and queued executions are no longer failed by the disconnect case addressed here.
Session history keeps activity in its proper scope, and the desktop handles a temporarily empty display list. The cryptography dependency receives a security update.
August 19, 2026 — Restore comments, frame mentions, and the Focus cursor
Fixed live comments in task details and restored frame mentions across Denker inputs. Comment mention controls are made consistent, while the selection toolbar is hidden in compact mode.
Focus-mode cursor visibility is corrected. The Companion also receives app-server cleanup and Codex token-usage fixes.
August 23, 2026 — More consistent task links and spoken replies
Fixed links between history, frames, and tasks, along with note-derived task titles. Note comments and their mentions receive fixes so they do not block task work.
Escape stops readout in the corrected case, final spoken replies use the right source, and speech streaming chunks are smoothed. Presented frames receive focus fixes, reply pasting targets the intended placeholder, and connected-app authorization configuration is corrected.
